Gaia's Garden Wisdom
Beltane is the Wiccan Spring holiday. It is celebrated the eve of May 1 and was a raucous all night party with bonfires and lots of mead. In most of the temperate zone this is much closer to true spring that the official Mar 21st date. Please accept my apology for being late with this post. But this is a very busy time of the year in the garden. In the last two weeks I've planted tomatoes, peppers and eggplant and also two kinds of basal and other herbs. Then there are the flowers that are still not all planted. We have also added three new dwarf fruit trees and a strawberry tower. Our aim this year is to eat locally and grow as much of our own food as possible. We buy the rest at the Farmers Market which is now open.
